Achievements
Minoans had some great achievements. They created beautiful pottery, some of which still survives. They were also very successful fishers and traders. One of the Minoans greatest works was the Palace of Knossos. The Palace was the one of the grandest building of its time. It was an elaborate building with many different rooms. Some people believe that it was the building behind the Greek myth of the labyrinth.
The Palace of Knossos was one of first places that had a well organized way to circulate water. Knossos had a system that brought clean water in, took out waste water, and a storm sewer for overflow when there was heavy rain. The Minoans used drainage pipes, like the ones seen on the left, to discard waste from the palace.
